Summary

Offers grants to support projects that advance racial and social equity initiatives which aim to empower Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities through community-led philanthropy.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, community groups, coalitions, and individuals—particularly those who are BIPOC-led or center BIPOC communities in their work. Priority is given to initiatives that address systemic inequities in areas such as racial justice, economic empowerment, educational equity, health equity, and leadership development. Projects should demonstrate tangible benefits for BIPOC individuals and families and reflect a commitment to collaboration and community engagement.

Grant amounts typically average around $10,000, though requests exceeding this amount may be considered by the Leadership Advisory Committee. The application process is designed to be accessible, with a simplified initial application followed by a community conversation and, if funded, a brief follow-up and participation in a community event. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions typically communicated within three months.

This funding opportunity is particularly suited for organizations and individuals dedicated to fostering equity and inclusion. By supporting initiatives that are led by and/or holistically serve BIPOC communities, the Equity Fund aims to contribute to a more just and inclusive society.
