Connecticut's aging population and high cost of living create significant challenges for families dealing with memory-related health issues. The state's densely populated urban areas, such as Hartford and New Haven, have limited affordable housing options for seniors, exacerbating the issue. This funding supports the establishment of community-based networks in Connecticut to provide peer support and resources for families. Eligibility in Connecticut requires organizations to demonstrate experience working with local service providers and caregivers. Connecticut's Department of Aging and Disability Services reports that 1 in 7 residents is currently caring for someone with dementia or Alzheimer's. To apply, organizations must show an understanding of the state's existing infrastructure and capacity to connect families with local resources. What Sets Connecticut Apart?
